Introducing the Cromar CromaSlate Lightweight uPVC Slate

We are very pleased to introduce the Cromar CromaSlate, a lightweight, easy to lay, uPVC slate to our stock range.

Cromaslates are 100% recycled, and have been designed with a textured finish and riven edges to give the slate, and your roof, an authentic slate look.

Whilst suitable for most roofs, the CromaSlate is particuarly suitable as a replacement roof system for situations when natural slates are unable to be used for reasons such as: Weight and/or the pitch of the roof.

CromaSlate is a lightweight roofing system, meaning that it has a low weight per square metre, which makes these slates perfect for use on buildings such as summer houses or outbuildings.

The CromaSlate is also ideal to use at a lower roof pitch as the CromaSlate will work at pitches as low as 15 degrees, compared to 25 degrees for natural roofing slate.

CromaSlate is an easy-to-fix roof system. The slates are produced with installation guidelines on the slate, making the slates very easy to fix. Combine this with the fact that the slates require no grading or drilling to install, and the CromaSlate enables a quick, simple and cost-effective installation.

The CromaSlate roofing system is BS approved and has achieved a BS476 Part 3 Fire rating as well as a BRE Wind and Fire rest to the requirement of EN15601. CromaSlate also come with a 20-year warranty, should the installation be carried out according to the manufacturer's specification.

The Croma Slate roof system is completed with a CromaSlate ridge and a CromaSlate hip ridge, both featuring the textured finish of the slate to match in perfectly. The hips and ridge are easy to install, with similar guidelines to the slates to help with fixing. The ridge also clips together, as well as being fixed to help secure the ridge to the roof.

CromaSlates are easily finished at the verge, by overhanging the slates by approximately 50mm and raising the fascia up to finish to verge.

At the eave course, there is not an individual eave tile available, and instead you simply need to cut the slates to 300mm, and lay them as a separate eave course.
