Cromar Solar Reflective Aluminium Roof Paint - 5L is a solar reflective roof paint for felt / bituminous flat roof system applications, helping create reliable waterproof protection on flat roofs.

This solar reflective roof paint is used as part of a built-up felt roof system to create layered waterproof protection. It is commonly used on garages, extensions, dormers, porches and outbuildings, either over new OSB/plywood decking or suitable existing felt overlays where the full system allows.

Typical applications

• Aluminium Solar Reflective Roof Paint is an economical, traditional, solar reflective coating suitable for application to bituminous roofing substrates, such as roofing felt, for protection against the sun and weathering of roofs, particularly where bituminous, exposed steel and corrugated iron surfaces are encountered.

• Recommended for competent DIY or trade installation depending on the roof system and project size

Coverage

• The rate of application is between 5 - 10m² per L per coat depending on the condition of the surface,technical_4=5L covers between 25m² - 50m² overall so 2 coat coverage = 12.5m² - 25m² depending on surface condition
• Two coats should be applied
• Apply the second coat 24 hours after the first coat
• 25L covers between 125m² - 250m² overall so 2 coat coverage = 62.5m² - 125m² depending on surface condition

Technical details

• Freshly applied bitumen coatings should be allowed to weather for at least 3 - 5 days prior to the application of this product
• For use on Roofing Felt we recommend you prime the surface using Bitumen Primer (available separately) prior to applying the first coat
• The appearance of a silver film on the surface of the paint after a short period of stirring does not signify that the paint is thoroughly uniform. It is advisable to stir for several minutes to ensure complete dispersion. Preference should be given to mechanical stirring
• VOC Details: EU Limit for this product CAT. 2(i) : 500g/l (2010). This product contains max. 410g/l VOC's
