Cromar Bitumen Primer For Torch On Roofing Felt 1 litre / 5 litre / 25 litre
A low viscosity, high penetration, cold applied bituminous solution designed to prime and seal porous roof surfaces prior to the application of bituminous materials.
Cromar Bitumen Primer seals porous substrates and promotes the adhesion of bituminous waterproofing systems and sheet coverings.
Features:
- For use on metal, concrete, asbestos cement, slate, lightweight concrete screeds, roofing felt & asphalt
- Can be applied by brush or spray
- Can be applied to damp (not wet) surfaces
- One coat application
- Cromar Bitumen Primer shoud be applied evenly in one coating
- Resistant to water within 20 - 30 minutes
Coverage:
- Metal Surfaces: 6 - 12 m/2 per litre
- Concrete Surfaces: 6 - 8 m/2 per litre
- Lightweight concrete screeds and asbestos cement: 3.5 - 5 m/2 per litre
- Metal Surfaces: 1 x 1kg tin covers 6 - 8 m/2
- Metal Surfaces: 1 x 5 litre tin covers 30 - 40 m/2
- Metal Surfaces: 1 x 25 litre tin covers 150 - 200 m/2
Drying:
- It is essential after priming concrete or screeded surfaces that the coating is free of solvent therefore a drying time of 2 hours should be allowed

Fixing
Application:
- Care needs to be taken over preparation of surfaces before application
- All surfaces must be free from oil, dirt, dust and loose debris
- On metal surfaces all loose rust should be removed using a wire brush and where advanced signs of corrosion are evident the area be treated with a rust inhibitor
- Surfaces should be dry for best results, although Bitumen Primer will adhere to damp but not wet surfaces
- Bitumen Primer should be applied by brush ensuring an even coat with no pooling, or applied evenly by airless spray
- Cleaning Tools: Tools may be cleaned with White Spirit
- Minor spillages should be wiped off surfaces immediately before the product has set
- Major spillages should be mopped up immediately with an inert, absorbent material, such as sand and disposed of in accordance with regulations
- Storage: Indefinite in undamaged, tightly sealed containers
