Cromar Alphachem Wetroom Tanking Kit

The AlphaChem Wetroom Tanking Kit is a flexible, waterproof and crack bridging system formulated specifically to provide waterproof protection to wetrooms, domestic bathrooms, kitchens and showers on walls and floors, prior to tiling.

Please note that this product is for internal use only.

Each bucket contains a full bodied waterproof coating and membrane tape (10m x 100mm).



  • Total area coverage per tub: 7.5m2
  • Coverage: 0.5kg per m2
  • Note: it is essential that the correct amount of product is applied to ensure protection.


  • Tub size: 7.5kg
  • Drying Time: 2 Hours for the first coat / 24 Hours for the second coat (approx)
  • Application Temperature +5 to +25 degrees c
  • Suitable for foot traffic after 24 hours


  • Suitable for use with underfloor heating
  • Ideal for use on concrete, sand/cement screed, plasterboard, blockwork, new brickwork, timber walls, plywood overlay, anhydrite screeds, sand/cement render, firm/stable plaster etc
  • Easy to use, brush or roller applied product with no priming required


Surface Preparation:

  • Ensure all surfaces are clean, sound, dry and free from dust, grease or other contaminants.
  • Remove any layers that are flaking or peeling.
  • Background surfaces must be free from movement.

New brickwork, blockwork and concrete:

  • Must be fully cured, dry and the surface must be reasonably flat

Gypsum plaster, anhydrite type floors:

  • Most be completely dry.
  • Surface must also be fully cured with >0.5% moisture prior to the application of the AlphaChem Tanking Kit.

Timber walls/floors and other boarded backgrounds:

  • Ensure background is clean, sound, dry, flat and free from any loose matter.
  • All boards should be fixed firmly to support joists and free from sudden or excessive movement.
  • For floorboards, overlay with at least 15mm of exterior grade plywood, fixed with screws at 300mm centres.
  • Moisture sensitive backgrounds should be protected from moisture ingress from behind


  • Apply using a brush or short pile roller to a minimum of 0.5Kg/m2. See the full application instructions and illustrations on the side of the bucket.
  • Drying time will be dependent on thickness applied, porosity of the background and the temperature (if it is below 20°C),
  • Approximate drying times: 2 hours for the first coat / 24 hours for the second coat


  • All tools should be thoroughly cleaned with water immediately after use.


  • Store in cool, dry conditions, out of direct sunlight.
  • Store between +5 and +25 degrees c
  • Protect from frost.

Shelf Life:

  • 12 months when stored as directed.
